Bill is a Senior Vice President with Oliver Wyman Clinical Solutions. He has over 25 years of clinical operations leadership experience in provider and payer settings. Areas of special interest and deep expertise include case management/care coordination, patient safety, healthcare quality improvement, regulatory/accrediting agency standards compliance, and clinical documentation improvement. Bill is a Registered Nurse and an Accredited Case Manager (ACM).
For a state hospital association, Bill led a year-long case management transformation collaborative featuring extensive training, education and data mining/analysis that improved clinical operations and achieved measurable improvements across a variety of key case management/care coordination metrics.
For a western Blues plan, served as Interim VP of Medical Management and worked with an Oliver Wyman team that provided a thorough assessment and reorganization of medical management operations and a prioritized strategic roadmap with implementation strategy.
For a large regional health system, served as Interim VP of Care Coordination and defined/implemented new roles and functions required by the transition to value-based care. Also standardized care coordination roles and functions across the organization and improved staffing mix by elevating staff to top-of-license functioning.
For two large regional ACOs, conducted clinical documentation and coding improvement projects that significantly elevated average risk scores and corrected risk adjusted reimbursement.
For a west coast hospital system, led a clinical operations organizational redesign that coordinated previously siloed operations and improved organization-wide care management operations.
For a leading for-profit healthcare system, served as Corporate Director of Clinical Operations and later as Corporate Director of Clinical Systems Integration, Education and Reporting. Implemented best-practice case management operations across multiple settings in multiple states. Co-led the development, deployment and ongoing training / support for a proprietary clinical business intelligence portal that played a key role in KPI dashboard standardization and improved clinical and financial performance across the company.
Bill holds an Associates’ Degree in Nursing from Columbus State University and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from Troy State University. Additionally, Bill holds an Accreditation in Case Management from the National Board for Case Management with the designation of Accredited Case Manager (ACM).
