Julia is a Partner in the Philadelphia office of Oliver Wyman, a global strategy consultancy, and a member of the firm’s Health and Life Sciences practice. Over the past 10 years, her work has centered on growth and diversification strategy, transition to value-based health, and operational transformation for companies in the health services, provider and health enablement spaces.

Relevant Experience

For a regional non-profit health insurer, supported planning and execution for the company’s new strategy and initiative set in the Care Delivery space, broadening outside of the traditional insurance role in the ecosystem.

For a regional non-profit health insurer, supported development of a comprehensive provider evaluation and steerage strategy to better optimize use of the broad network.

For a regional non-profit health insurer, designed and implemented a market-wide value-based contracting initiative – from initial risk model design, through provider negotiations, operational planning, program implementation and reporting.

For a digital health company, developed a go-to-market strategy for new product launch, including target geographies, partners, and a refined value proposition / positioning approach for key stakeholders involved (consumer, provider, and payer).

For a global pharmaceutical company, worked to identify risk-mitigating diversification opportunities in the health management and pharmacy spaces.

For a global insurance company, supported the development of a new line of business in employee benefits; helped spec eight new products and develop a sales and marketing plan; worked alongside Lippincott to define the customer journey map – including look/feel and key points of experience differentiation.

For a regional non-profit health insurer, helped develop a high-intensity care coordination and management program for polychronic Medicare Advantage members.

For a regional non-profit health insurer, helped design product features and contract the provider network for. two low-cost health insurance products to be offered to the Commercial individual market in 2015. One low-cost health insurance product to be offered to the Medicare Advantage individual market in 2015.

For a regional non-profit health system, helped develop a five-year strategic roadmap and financial model – outlining key commercialization opportunities and the essential supporting clinical transformations – to guide the system as it shifts from traditional fee-for-service to fee-for-value payer contracts.

For a large health enablement company, helped design the essential features and functionalities for their “next generation” of ACO-focused health enablement tools.

Education and Other Experience

Julia holds an MBA in Health Care Management from the Wharton School at the University of a Pennsylvania, and an Sc. B. in Biomedical Engineering from Brown University.
